“This is the beginning of a new day. You have been given this day to use as you will. You can waste it or use it for good. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever; in its place is something that you have left behind…let it be something good.”

Baden Powell, the founder of the boys scout movement, his last wish before he died was to ask every one to strive to  live this world a better place than you found it

The secret to my success is very simple – hard work and dedication. I’ve been No.1 ever since I first started promoting over 30 years ago. That’s a long time to stay on top. It wasn’t easy. I couldn’t walk in the front door of the corporate office; I had to break it down. Your desire to remain No.1 must always be driving you. You have to be creative, innovative and have the guts to stand up. A man who has no wings – he cannot fly – he shall remain on the earth. I want to let everyone know how much harder it was and still is for me. We have to make sure that we’re a step ahead of everyone and work 24-7 to accomplish that. For anyone to live their lives that way – through dedication and hard work – they can realize their dreams. Not everyone’s goals or dreams will be the same, but they all require a commitment.

Boxing promoter, Don King explaining why he is the best promoter.

A man who has no wings cannot fly, he will remain on earth. The wings are persistence and dedication. Like King says, to get inside a corporate office he had to bring the door down. Keep knocking and the door shall be opened.

Leo Kirch philosophical comments after his  Kirch Media empire went under with 6.5 billion Euros of debt.

I read an article in last months copy of The Economist Magazine, Leo Kirch at 81 years is plotting a business come back. I love this kind of stories, men and women who never give up. Dissapointment and age should not discourage any one from pursuing the the life you want. Good Luck Kirch and Never say die!

Sometimes we feel so worn down by our spirit-breaking, daily grind (or a serious loss, like being fired) that we lack the energy and hope needed to reach our goals. The creative process makes demands on us. In and of itself, it can trigger anxiety, conflict, chronic fatigue, and even intense resistance (what I’ve called the Big R)–the recoil, or withdrawal of energy from obligations. When apathy or restlessness undercut our plans, the Big R is usually lurking close by.

Get out well, but not too quickly, move through the field, be comfortable. Strategy-wise, go with your strengths. If you don’t have a great finish, you must get away to win. I’ve always found it effective to make a move just before the crest of a hill. You get away just a little and you’re gone before your opponent gets over the top. Also, around a tight bend, take off like holy hell. I’ve done that a number of times. You should not be flying down the home straight. Most of your efforts should have been put forth earlier.

I dont know if John read a copy of “Art of War ” according to the book the best way to defeat your rival is to challenge him on his weakness.
