In 1945, Dwight Davis donator of the Davis cup, dies

1986 – A fairy tale wedding proposal takes place when NBC’s Ahmad Rashad marriage proposal is accepted by Phylicia Ayers-Allen during halftime of Detroit Lions-New York Jets football game.
