In 1837, Thomas Morris of Australia skips rope 22,806 times

In 1902, 1st night football game, Phila Athletics beats Kanaweola AC, 39-0. The pitch was surrounded by light bulbs attached to poles. 

In 1905, 1st game ever played in the Australian Tennis Open. Because of its geographic remoteness very few foreign players entered this tournament at the beginning. Those were the days it took about 45 days to make the trip by ship from the Europe to Australia and the first tennis players who came by plane were the US Davis Cup players in November 1946.
