Welcome to today highlights in sporting history. Today women participate in all activities that men do but in another era in a day like today in 1872 a defiant Susan B. Anthony was fined $100 for trying to vote for Ulysses S Grant. Ironically, Women were not allowed to vote in the land of the free.
In 1933, They say all good things must come to an end, Chicago Bears 30 game unbeaten streak ends at the hands of detemined Patriots (10-0)

In 1971 NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers starts a 33 game consecutive victory streak. The Lakers beat the New York Knicks in five games to win the title.

The winning  streak was masterminded under Coach of the Year Bill Sharman.

In 1978, Oakland Raider’s John Madden becomes 13th coach to win 100 NFL games

In 1982, Cleveland Cavalirs lose 24th consecutive game (NBA record)

In 1994,  George Foreman wins heavyweight title in 10th round knockout of Michael Moorer

In 1996, New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter is the unanimous choice as AL Rookie of the year.
