Welcome to my top four sporting highlights this day in History. There are few things that captures our imagination than great sporting come backs. One of my best has to be New York Yankees Come back this day in 1996.

In 1871, In sailing most prestigious event, Team Columbia and Sappho of US beat team Livonia of UK in 3rd America’s Cup.

In 1964, Japanese beat Russian for 1st Olympic Gold in woman’s volleyball

In 1968, Legendary runner,Kipchoge Keino of Kenya wins gold medal for 1,500m in a time of 3 min 34.9 sec, Current record stands at 3 min 26 sec by moroccan great Hicham Elguerrouj

In 1996, Mighty New York Yankees set record by coming back from an impossible 6-0 in World Series game to beat Atlanta Braves 8-6, also set record of 7th straight road win. Love them hate them. They are the best!
