In 1923, New York Yankees 1st World Series win beating NY Giants, 4 games to 2. It was the beginning of a Base ball legacy that lives on.

In 1987 – NFL Players Assn orders an end to 24 day strike

In 1988 – With 2 outs in bottom of 9th, an injured Kirk Gibson hits dramatic 2 run Home runs to gives Dodgers a 5-4 win in 1st game of World Series

In 1997, New York  jury awards boxer Mitch Green $45,000 in civil lawsuit against boxing bad boy Mike Tyson, for street brawl in 1988
