In 1953 – Birmingham Alabama, bars Jackie Robinson’s Negro-White All-Stars from playing there Robinson gives in and drops white players from his group

In 1995 – Edgar Martinez drives home tying and winning runs to inspire Mariners to 6-5 win in bottom of 11th to beat Yankees and win AL Division Series
